Women’s Equality Day

In honor of Women’s Equality Day on August 26th, we’re spotlighting just a few of the many amazing women who are breaking barriers in sports, fitness, media and more - all with Hammitt bags by their sides.

Katie Dunlop of Love Sweat Fitness has set out on a mission to make physical activity a lifestyle for every one of her nearly 400,000 followers. Not only has her fitness program transformed hundreds of lives, but she’s an inspiring entrepreneur with an app and equipment line. Dunlop works to show that fitness and technology shouldn’t just include women - they should celebrate them.

One of our hometown heroes, Fox Sports reporter Alex Curry is breaking down gender boundaries, cementing her status as a key presence at Angels and Kings games. Most recently, she joined America’s historic women’s soccer team on their road to the World Cup in Lyon, France.

An Iranian stylist and real estate agent, Shima Katouzian has also empowered female artists through her establishment of an online marketplace for their pieces. Her website, herosheema.com, features women who design and have the courage to speak through their art.

Hailing from Hammitt’s hometown, Christen Press has now taken center stage as one of America’s most influential female athletes. As a member of this year’s headline-making World Cup team, Press has fought for pay equality in soccer and beyond.

This spring, we had the pleasure of watching a newly-crowned Miss USA, Cheslie Kryst, pass her Miss North Carolina crown to Laura Little. An attorney and MBA graduate, Kryst is out to prove that pageants are opportunities to recognize leaders of the future. At a crowning ceremony co-hosted by Hammitt, Kryst recognized Little as a friend with a “passion for service.”

Here’s to these boundary-breaking, stereotype-defying women. We’re just proud to be along for the ride.
