Hampton Volley called, and we answered! Last week, our marketing team took off to the Hamptons for a week filled with summer fun, meaningful connections, and of course, beach volleyball. We had the incredible opportunity to team up with Spiritual Gangster and Kerri Walsh Jennings in Montauk, New York, for a magical series of events that started off on Sunday morning with a grounding breath work class and ended on Tuesday with a fun afternoon of beach volleyball at the first annual Hampton Volley tournament!Â
Hampton Volley was launched by Kerri Walsh Jennings this year as a way to give back to the community while simultaneously elevating the sport of beach volleyball. Benefits from this event go toward the local Hampton Lifeguard Association and Kerri’s p1440 foundation that aims to unite, empower, inspire through the sport of beach volleyball. The impacts of this event are not only felt by the athletes playing on the court during the tournament - they extend far beyond to support youth athlete scholarships and water safety programs in our communities, too.Â
On early Sunday morning, we took over Gurney’s Resort in Montauk for a grounding breath work class overlooking the ocean that was led by the iconic Kerri Walsh Jennings. Each of our attendees received a special gift - our best-selling Charles Crossbody in our classic black pebbled leather with brushed gold hardware and red zipper detailing - a Kerri favorite! This iconic bag was worn by Kerri herself as she led the group through the class. Our partner for the event, Spiritual Gangster, also provided our guests with a fun gift from their collection. The bright yellow tanks perfectly encapsulated the happy and down to earth vibes felt throughout the class. It was great to take the time to pause and feel grounded before heading off to more exciting events that were on the schedule in the following days!
On Tuesday, the vibes were high and the sun was shining. Eight teams of Olympians, pros, lifeguards, and local Hamptons talent took to the sand at Kirk Park Beach to compete for the Hampton Volley tournament champion title. Meanwhile, spectators gathered for an afternoon filled with excitement and all-around good fun. We partnered with Montauk Tattoo to provide customized leather hat clips for guests with unique tattoo designs, a fun activation we started implementing this summer and just can’t get enough of. The leather acts as a second skin that maintains the ink tattoo design perfectly, as if it were human skin. Safe to say that everyone else is just as obsessed with the finished product as we are!
Out on the court, each of the eight incredibly talented teams rallied hard for the tournament cause. Team Firefly was a force to be reckoned with and ultimately took the first ever Hampton Volley Champion title. Huge congrats to each member of the team!
