October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a month dedicated to educating, detecting breast cancer early, and supporting survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer. All month long here at Hammitt, we will be wearing pink and championing various initiatives surrounding Breast Cancer Awareness.
About a week ago, the icon and actress, Olivia Munn, joined the Today Show to discuss her experience as a breast cancer survivor and encourage other women to assess their risk of having breast cancer. After all, it could save their life, just as it saved her and her mother. In 2024, Munn received the results of a clear mammogram with no signs or apparent risk of breast cancer. But, upon completing the Breast Cancer Risk Assessment test, she realized she was at high risk of having it and visited her doctor once more. The results of a later MRI proved the risk assessment test to be correct. Munn had breast cancer, so she immediately began treatment. Today, Olivia Munn is not only a survivor but a global ambassador for the cause. She fights for breast cancer research and emphasizes the importance of taking the risk assessment test - a major step on the path to survival today.
While making her appearance on the Today Show, Munn wore a Vintage Chanel suit with pink detailing, adorned with a crystal Breast Cancer pin. Her blinged out Labubu had a matching pink pin and was attached to her Meredith Sml in Black/Gunmetal. The perfect outfit, if I do say so myself (but I may be biased). Later that day, Munn joined Elizabeth Hurley to light the Empire State Building pink to support breast cancer awareness and those fighting the disease.
