Spotted, Julie Bowen, and an oh so elegant Hammitt evening bag, turning heads on the red carpet of Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2 premiere earlier this week. Everyone is talking about the movie premiere and we can’t stop talking about our red carpet moment. Styled by Tara Swennen, Julie Bowen dazzled fans in a show-stopping asymmetric black dress, designed by Christian Siriano, complemented by a brand new Hammitt silhouette launching as part of our Fall 2025 collection - the Charlotte Sml.
Our soon-to-be-released Charlotte Sml is the perfect little black evening bag that is ready for red carpets, galas, or a fancy night out. Named after Charlotte York from Sex and the City, this collection is inspired by influential and powerful women, and we think Charlotte would absolutely love to wear this bag.
The Charlotte Sml is an elevated take on our classic clutches that resembles a wallet on a chain. It is complete with a detachable gold chain crossbody strap so it can be worn three ways as a clutch, shoulder bag, or crossbody. Upon first glance, the centerpiece of the bag is the unique turn lock closure. We partnered with artist Ian Seegars to create a timeless, special hardware for this collection with a water-inspired surface. This shiny hardware was designed to invoke memory and create a story that expands our world.
The Charlotte Sml features a front lock pocket and zippered back compartment that essentially make this bag two in one. The front compartment features our new lock closure and is the perfect place to put your phone or sunglasses and keep them secure. The back zippered compartment features six credit card slots and a flat bill pocket. Both pockets feature our signature red suede lining and red reveal, as seen on many of our other Hammitt bags.
The Charlotte Family also features a slightly larger version of the Charlotte Sml, the Charlotte Med. This is the perfect elegant everyday bag complete with a detachable shoulder strap and crossbody strap. In this iteration, we wanted to highlight the beautiful draped look that surrounds the bag. The front and back compartments both feature magnetic gussets, allowing the pockets to open easily, and creating a gentle fold that contrasts the more rigid structure of the rest of the bag. Like the Charlotte Sml, the pockets of the Charlotte Med have a red suede interior lining and red reveal on the leather credit card slot. The back wall of the zip pocket features an exterior cell phone pocket with a magnetic closure for additional storage. There is no shortage of carrying capacity in this bag. The bag base features metal feet that further elevate the bag and help to protect the leather during use, so this bag will stay as elegant as can be.
